WHO ARE DERMAPLANING FACIALS FOR?
Clients with mature skin will benefit the most, but essentially clients of all ages will benefit. Younger clients can use dermaplaning to keep their complexing fresh in the prevention of wrinkles and fine lines.
Skin products will penetrate the skin more effectively which will also help to play a part in receding the aging process.
Pregnant or breastfeeding clients can also have the treatment, when other chemical exfoliating treatments may not be suitable.
It is not suitable for those with active acne.
WILL DERMAPLANING MAKE MY HAIR GROW BACK THICKER AND DARKER?
NO! Absolutely not - this is a complete myth.
The hair on our bodies is totally different to that on our face. The hair on our face which is called vellus hair aka, 'peach fuzz', grows back the same size and shape after being dermaplaned.
WILL DERMAPLANING HURT?
No. Dermaplaning is a 100% pain free procedure.
If anything, you might feel a little 'tickle' on your face.
HOW OFTEN CAN I HAVE DERMAPLANING DONE?
Dermaplaning facials can be repeated as frequently as every 4 weeks. There is no need to have them sooner than this as you risk removing too much skin all the time.
WHO ARE SKIN PEELS FOR?
Clients with mature skin will benefit the most, but essentially clients of all ages will benefit. Younger clients can use skin peels to keep their complexion fresh in the prevention of wrinkles and fine lines.
Skin peels can benefit: inflammatory and non-inflammatory acne, blackheads and comedones, rough texture, fine lines and wrinkles, enlarged pores, skin ageing and photo damaged skin.
Skin peels are recommended weekly or fortnightly for optimum results.
WHATS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CHEMICAL PEELS AND SUPERFICIAL PEELS?
Chemical peels penetrate much deeper into the skin than superficial peels and carry much more risk of skin burning and downtime.
It is always preferable to have more frequent superficial skin peels on a weekly or fortnightly basis, than one medium or deep chemical peel.
The results are more beneficial and by far the safer option as chemical burns are real!
DO SKIN PEELS HURT?
There should be no actual 'pain' during the procedure, but you will feel a slight burning sensation. This is absolutely nothing to worry about and should only feel at a level 2/10 pain wise. Your skin may be a little red looking or 'flushed' but will quickly subside.
HOW OFTEN CAN I HAVE DERMAPLANING AND A SKIN PEEL AT THE SAME TIME?
You will get the most benefits from having both at the same time as they compliment each other. Dermaplaning removes the last 21 days of old skin, and once that is removed, the skin peel can properly penetrate the epidermis and get to work more effectively.
Dermaplaning and peels may be performed separately by alternating each procedure every 2 weeks, or may be combined and performed in the same treatment.
If dermaplaning and a peel is performed in the same treatment, then this can be done monthly to allow for sufficient healing time.
