FAQ:
WHAT AREAS CAN BE TREATED WITH PROFHILO®?
We can treat the following areas with Profhilo: face, neck, décolleté, arms, knees, hands and tummy.
WHO IS PROFHILO SUITABLE FOR?
Most clients are suitable for this procedure, however I do not recommend this treatment for those under the age of 30 as there is absolutely no point with no real visible differences made.
Clients' skin that show the signs of ageing will benefit the most from this skin rejuvenation treatment.
Clients between the age of 30-40 can use it to aim to keep their skin looking younger and fresher for longer whilst creating a better more smoother skin tone in the prevention from wrinkles and fine lines.
Those who are 40+ will also see a huge improvement in their skin with the signs of ageing.
However, I would not recommend it for those clients who have heavy folds as it is more of a 'cherry on the cake' treatment and used in combination with other treatments such as fillers and PDO threads, those would work to pull back and lift the skin on the inside, and Profhilo will work to improve the skin from the outside.
WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS AND HOW LONG DOES IT LAST FOR?
You will see results after 1-2 days, but the full effect can be seen after one week. In most patients the improvement is not visible after one treatment: for this reason 2 treatments are suggested.
The effects of Profhilo will last around 4-6 months but it is recommended you have maintenance sessions at 4 month intervals (from the initial 2 sessions) to continue the effects - rather than let it wear off completely.
If this is the case, then 2 sessions will be needed again to get the skin back up to its previous state.
WILL INJECTING PROFHILO HURT?
Whilst Profhilo is injected into the skin with a needle, numbing cream can be applied to the skin before hand if absolutely necessary.
However, because the 5 injection points are on the side of the face (cheek area), this is not a sensitive area and therefore, it is unlikely you will need or require any kind of topical numbing in preparation.
The vast majority of clients are able to tolerate the session well.
WHAT WILL I LOOK LIKE AFTER THE TREATMENT? WILL I BE RED? SWELLING?
When Profhilo is injected correctly, there will be no swelling. You may look a little red immediately afterwards and there may be some small slightly visible lumps on the skin at the injection sites, but this will subside quickly and usually around an hour.
You will be able to go about your day as usual.
It is advised however that you do not apply makeup on your face for 24hrs afterwards or exercise for 24hrs post treatment.
