CHEMICAL SKIN PEELS, NORWICH
Chemical Skin Peels - £50
Superficial skin peels are a safe and effective way to rejuvenate the appearance of the skin. Over time, factors such as sun damage, heredity, diet, and repetitive muscle movement contribute to the formation of lines and wrinkles in the face.
Alpha-hydroxy acids are naturally occurring acids which include glycolic acid, lactic acid, and fruit acids, while beta-hydroxy acids include salicylic acid. You may be familiar with glycolic acid and salicylic acid, as they are often key ingredients in facial creams and astringents.
With little to no downtime, superficial peels are a safe, effective method of treating fine lines, pigmentation abnormalities, acne scars, and persistent dry skin.
Having a skin peel after a dermaplaning facial is even more beneficial as the skin peel can penetrate more effectively into the skin with better and longer lasting results.
I would personally recommend that my clients have skin peels on a weekly or fortnightly basis for optimum results - this is also based on my own experience on using these skin peels on myself.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING A SKIN PEEL?
1. We will first undergo a consultation where I will assess your skin and make you aware of what to expect along with aftercare advice.
2. Once we have addressed your concerns and skin issues, I perform a double cleanse.
3. The chosen skin peel begins.
4. Once completed, the skin peel is neutralised.
5. I then apply a sheet mask to the skin, to nourish, cool and soothe.
6. An AHA + EGF Skin Booster is then applied.
7. Finally, a moisturiser with 30SPF is applied.
WHO ARE SKIN PEELS FOR?
Clients with mature skin will benefit the most, but essentially clients of all ages will benefit. Younger clients can use skin peels to keep their complexion fresh in the prevention of wrinkles and fine lines.
Skin peels can benefit: inflammatory and non-inflammatory acne, blackheads and comedones, rough texture, fine lines and wrinkles, enlarged pores, skin ageing and photo damaged skin.
Skin peels are recommended weekly or fortnightly for optimum results.
WHATS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CHEMICAL PEELS AND SUPERFICIAL PEELS?
Chemical peels penetrate much deeper into the skin than superficial peels and carry much more risk of skin burning and downtime.
It is always preferable to have more frequent superficial skin peels on a weekly or fortnightly basis, than one medium or deep chemical peel.
The results are more beneficial and by far the safer option as chemical burns are real!
DO SKIN PEELS HURT?
There should be no actual 'pain' during the procedure, but you will feel a slight burning sensation. This is absolutely nothing to worry about and should only feel at a level 2/10 pain wise. Your skin may be a little red looking or 'flushed' but will quickly subside.
HOW OFTEN CAN I HAVE DERMAPLANING AND A SKIN PEEL AT THE SAME TIME?
Absolutely yes! In fact, you will get the most benefits from having both at the same time as they compliment each other. Dermaplaning removes the last 21 days of old skin, and once that is removed, the skin peel can properly penetrate the epidermis and get to work more effectively. I offer a little discount when you have both dermaplaning and a skin peel together.
